PARENTS & CARERS - Victim Support
All the support groups, agencies and organisations mentioned in this section provide good service and strong support to those who come to them. One organisation in particular offers emotional and practical help and support to victims of crime regardless of what sort of crime it was. The service they offer is free and totally confidential:
VICTIM SUPPORT
Victim Support offers:
- Someone to talk to, in confidence
- Information on police and court procedures
- Liaison with other organisations on behalf of victims
- Information on compensation and insurance matters
- Contact with other courses of help.
- Victim Support can arrange for volunteers to accompany people to the police station.
- Victim Support can organise referral to the Witness Service to help witnesses, victims, their families and friends before, during and after a hearing.
